A Day in the Life as a Construction Office Project Engineer

As a construction office project engineer, you arrive each day ready to use your amazing organizational skills to help manage a variety of construction projects from start to finish. You assist the project manager in the preparation and coordination of submittals, proposal reviews, project schedules, and subcontractor/supplier coordination. You also help produce design documents and are involved in conceptual budget estimating.

Though you do spend significant time in an office environment and at a computer, you also enjoy the opportunity to get out and travel to job sites. Also, while you do work independently on a wide range of activities, you also have ample opportunities to engage with field and office team members, civil engineers, architects, and owners. 

You enjoy keeping busy with a variety of tasks throughout the day and get great satisfaction out of helping to ensure that the administrative side of construction projects are taken care of accurately and on-schedule!


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Suretrak Scheduling
  • Education in a related field of study
  • Experience in the construction industry

LEED certification is highly preferred, but not necessarily required. Timberline Estimating experience is a plus! Do you have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written? Do you have the ability to make clear and informative presentations? Are you self-motivated and able to work independently? Do you have excellent organizational and time-management skills?
